3 November 2024: Ynetnews: “Bnai Brfith is circulating a petition demanding the immediate dismissal of the convicted terrorist”. Article written by Itamar Eichner. Diplomatic correspondent Itamar Eichner was named the winner of B’nai B’rith World Center’s Award for Journalism Recognizing Excellence in Diaspora Reportage for 2023. The article claims that Dr. Diab fled France to Canada, when in fact he was released from prison in France in 2018 when two senior French investigating judges found there was no evidence to justify bringing him to trial.

3 November 2024: Im Tirtzu, Israel’s largest grassroots Zionist movement, developed its own letter-writing appeal, with the message: “A disgrace to higher education! Carleton University must immediately remove Hassan Diab from teaching! He is a convicted terrorist and fugitive, students deserve more than a murderer for a teacher.” The emails are being sent to undefined “decision-makers”. A number of signatories appear more than once, names and email addresses are “optional”. As of 13 November, 2024, 1,515 emails were listed. The first was sent at 11:20 am (Eastern Time) on 3 November, 2024.

“Subject: Your day is close!
We know exactly where you live & where you socialize. We also have full & detailed info of your family members. You have 5 days, i.e. 120 hours to return to France to stand trial. Otherwise, your life clock will start clocking at an unprecedented rate.
There will be no additional attempts to warn you & to offer you an opportunity to save your miserable life. Alan is nothing akbar!!!”
The phrase “Alan is nothing akbar” is an intentional anti-Islam insult, mocking the Arabic expression “الله أكبر Allahu Akbar” (meaning “God is greater”).

L’expression « Alan is nothing akbar » est une insulte anti-islamique délibérée, se moquant de l’expression arabe الله أكبر («Allahu Akbar»), qui signifie « Dieu est plus grand ».
